John Prausnitz, emeritus professor of chemical and biological engineering, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Society for Engineering Education Chemical Engineering Division.

This award is given for lifetime achievement, in recognition of “a sustained career of contributions to pedagogical practice, scholarship, and/or mentoring that not only caused innovative and substantial changes, but also inspired other educators to new behaviors that benefit students in Chemical Engineering.”

The award will be presented at the Chemical Engineering Division banquet at the 2012 ASEE meeting in San Antonio, Texas, on June 11.

Says CBE department chair Doug Clark, “This award is presented to those who inspired younger educators to new behaviors that benefit students in chemical engineering. I am certainly among those so inspired, and I extend my heartiest congratulations to John for this very well-deserved honor.”
